Novo Nordisk CEO defends lawsuit against Eli Lilly: 'Competition has to be fair'

* Novo Nordisk CEO defends lawsuit against Eli Lilly over weight-loss drug ads * Lilly ads compare Zepbound to older Wegovy doses, not the newer 7.2 mg version * Novo claims Lilly's advertising is truthful but incomplete; legal fight intensifies Novo Nordisk CEO Mike Doustdar defended the company's lawsuit against Eli Lilly, accusing Lilly's weight-loss drug ads of being incomplete. The ads compare Zepbound to older Wegovy doses, but Novo now offers a 7.2 mg version with 19% weight loss, closer to Zepbound's 20.2%. Lilly called the claims misleading and noted no head-to-head trial supports equivalence. Novo shares fell 6% since the suit; Lilly gained 4%.
