This Chinese firm has topped Micron and Kioxia in shipments of crucial NAND memory chips
* YMTC ranks 3rd globally in NAND shipments with 14% share
* Chinese firm preparing IPO after CXMT's successful debut
* DRAM and NAND markets hit record sales in Q1
YMTC secured third place globally in NAND shipments with 14% market share in Q2, behind Samsung and SK hynix but ahead of Micron and Kioxia. The Chinese firm is preparing to go public following CXMT's successful DRAM IPO last month. Both DRAM and NAND markets reached record sales of nearly $100 billion and $46 billion respectively in Q1. YMTC still lags in revenue as it sells more to consumer applications than data centers, which will consume half of NAND by end-2026. SK hynix is resuming investment at its Dalian facility after a four-year pause.
