The company controls 58% of the high-bandwidth memory market, followed by Samsung and Micron. In July, it raised $26.5 billion through a Nasdaq listing. Shares have fallen 21% since July highs amid AI trade volatility. SK Hynix is constructing multiple new fabs, including the Yongin cluster, to double memory production in five years. Chairman Chey Tae-won described AI-driven demand as a "war" for supply. The firm signed 10 long-term agreements and is co-developing custom HBM with Nvidia. In the U.S., SK Hynix is building a $4 billion packaging fab in Indiana. The company is also competing with China, which is developing its own HBM makers.
