Responding to a Wall Street estimate of $160-180 billion for 1 GW of orbital compute, X user Jo Bhakdi calculated an all-in cost of $68 billion, falling to $43 billion by 2035. Musk said SpaceX would do "way better than that by 2028." Separately, Musk reiterated that Starlink could carry the majority of Earth's IP traffic long-term, potentially becoming the internet's de facto backbone, as investment firm Mach33 forecasts Starlink V3 constellation deployments by 2028.
